The planning group of the 4th regional capacity building workshop on psychological intervention after disasters (PIAD) that will be held in November 2015 met in Taipei (28 and 29 April 2015) to prepare plans for the implementation of the workshop in 2015. The meeting was hosted by the Integrated Research on Disaster Risk – International Center of Excellence (IRDR-ICoE) Academia Sinica, Taipei. PIAD is an activity led by the International Union of Psychological Sciences (IUPsyS). Academia Sinica will be the main sponsor and host of the workshop in 2015.
As in previous years, the workshop will:
• present participants with the most recent scientific and applied scientific knowledge and evidence relevant for psychological intervention after disasters;
• show the opportunities and constraints of working with particular target groups, such as children and adolescents;
• offer relevant knowledge provision, suitable for education and training in academic programs of psychology;
• help develop a regional network to support continuance in scientific knowledge dissemination and training in mental health support following disaster.
