The WFEO Committee for Disaster Risk Management publication addresses the complex challenges of Disaster Risk Reduction and describes the cascading effect of the natural phenomenon, the damage to the physical system, and the impact on the social and economic system.

Recognizing the urgent needs to tackle the risk connection between climate change and One Health, the authors provide four key messages and recommendations that with the intent to guide further research and to promote international cooperation to achieve a more climate-resilient world.

The agenda outlined in this document sets out some important areas where additional actionable knowledge would likely result in reduced risk and vulnerabilities and improved human well-being.

This publication is the first paper of the IRDR Working Paper Series (Vol.3). It was initiated for the development of the new Global Research Agenda - A Framework for Global Science In Support of Risk-informed Sustainable Development and Planetary Health.
