"Towards a Post-2015 Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction" Consultation Paper

Dear Colleagues, Partners and Collaborators,

The United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) Post-2015 Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction consultation paper is now available.

This document outlines the substantive issues and a process of consultations as UNISDR head toward the end date of the current Hyogo Framework for Action 2005-2015: Building the Resilience of Nations and Communities to Disasters.

Translation of the Consultation Paper into the other five UN languages (French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic and Chinese) will be available in early March 2012.

The AMS recently announced the recipients of its 2027 awards and honors on its official website. Professor Zhang Renhe, Director of the IRDR International Centre of Excellence (ICoE) at Fudan, has been honored with the Sverdrup Gold Medal for his fundamental contributions to understanding Asian monsoon variability in connection with ocean-atmosphere interactions in the Northwest Pacific and coupled modes such as ENSO.
