The call for contributions for the 4th International Disaster and Risk Conference IDRC Davos 2012 has been extended to 31 March 2012. The best papers will be published in the International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction.

The AMS recently announced the recipients of its 2027 awards and honors on its official website. Professor Zhang Renhe, Director of the IRDR International Centre of Excellence (ICoE) at Fudan, has been honored with the Sverdrup Gold Medal for his fundamental contributions to understanding Asian monsoon variability in connection with ocean-atmosphere interactions in the Northwest Pacific and coupled modes such as ENSO.
