IRDR and the Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC), based in Bangkok, Thailand, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 14 August 2026, formalising a five-year strategic partnership to bridge the gap between disaster risk science and policy implementation.

The AMS recently announced the recipients of its 2027 awards and honors on its official website. Professor Zhang Renhe, Director of the IRDR International Centre of Excellence (ICoE) at Fudan, has been honored with the Sverdrup Gold Medal for his fundamental contributions to understanding Asian monsoon variability in connection with ocean-atmosphere interactions in the Northwest Pacific and coupled modes such as ENSO.

IRDR ICoE-CCOUC and Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) Hong Kong, will be hosting a public forum on Thursday, 13 August 2026, under the theme "Ebola Disease: A Global Humanitarian System in Crisis".
