Evaluation Results of 2025 IRDR Pilot Study Application

IRDR International Programme Office  is pleased to annouce the evaluation results of 2025 IRDR Pilot Study Application.  

The 2025 IRDR Pilot Study Application opened on 11 August 2025 with the deadline for submission on 28 September 2025. In total, the IRDR IPO received 73 applications. Among them are 52 applications from IRDR ICoEs and IRDR NCs. According to the decision made at the 28th meeting of the IRDR Scientific Committee (SC28),  IRDR ICoE REaL secretariat submitted a short list of the top 5 applicants from the 46 applications received.

On 2 December 2025, a short list of 11 applications was announced by email. A formal and detailed description of the evaluation process and criteria was developed with reference to the rules of the contract management of IPO’s host institute.

In January 2026, the evaluation committee was established, consisting of 4 SC members, 3 IRDR Fellows, 1 IRDR Senior Scientific Advisor and two IPO staff members. In February 2026, the evaluation scores with some comments were received.

With the evaluation scores, comments and the availability of IPO budget, IPO decided to support the following proposals, in alphabetical order of ICoEs:

The IRDR International Young Scientists Forum (IYSF) 2026 is a three-day international forum organized by IRDR and mainly hosted by IRDR IPO and IRDR ICoE Coherence. The forum brings early career researchers together to advance disaster risk science and its application to policy and practice in support of the Sendai Framework. Its outputs will assess the contribution of science to Sendai Framework implementation and generate forward-looking insights to inform the post-2030 disaster risk reduction agenda.
