WSSF2018 Calls for abstract submissions and grant programmes for early-career researchers

Dr. Riyanti Djalante of UNU-IAS, a new member of IRDR Scientific Committee, convenes a session and calls for submissions on Human Security and Climate Change in the 2018 World Social Science Forum (WSSF), which takes place in Fukuoka, Japan, between 25-28 September 2018. We’re delighted to announce two grant programmes for early-career researchers attending the 2018 World Social Science Forum (WSSF), which takes place in Fukuoka, Japan, between 25-28 September 2018.The theme of WSSF 2018 is “Security and Equality for Sustainable Futures”.
 *   WSSF Scholarship for Early-Career Social Scientists from Low- or Lower-Middle Income Countries. The Forum organizers are putting together a WSSF Scholarship (travel grants) Fund for early career social scientists from low- or lower-middle income countries, which will cover travel, accommodation, sustenance and registration for successful applicants.
 
  *   WSSF Fukuoka Student Award. The WSSF Fukuoka Student Award is designed to help students gain international experience, and to expose them to a variety of research fields, methods, applications and discussions. The award will provide financial support of a maximum of JPY 100,000 per successful applicant. This award is limited to graduate students who are presenting either an oral or a poster presentation as a primary author.

The deadline for applications for both scholarships is 17 March, 2018 (24:00 Japan Standard Time).

IRDR co-organized the 2025 Silk Road DRR Training in Chengdu, training 30+ participants. Two IRDR Young Scientists received full scholarships, strengthening regional risk governance and youth engagement in disaster resilience.
