At the culmination of July’s Our Common Future Under Climate Change (CFCC15) (see IRDR July 10 news) conference which convened close to 2000 academics from almost 100 countries, an outcome statement was issued that explains that “to limit warming to 2°C, emissions must be zero or even negative by the end of the 21st century.” Institutions are encouraged to sign on the outcome statement. On Dec 2, 2025, IRDR held its Young Scientists Online Meeting with 6 YSP batches. Prof Saini Yang spoke; alumni shared experiences. It launched the 2026-onward YSP Action Plan, and participants discussed implementation and youth research in post-2030 global DRR.

IRDR co-organized the 2025 Silk Road DRR Training in Chengdu, training 30+ participants. Two IRDR Young Scientists received full scholarships, strengthening regional risk governance and youth engagement in disaster resilience.
