International Conference on Organic Farming for Sustainable Agriculture: Call for registration

International Conference on Organic Farming for Sustainable Agriculture (OFSA), jointly organized by Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) & Centre for Environment and Economic Development (CEED), will be held on 2nd-3rd June, 2017 in India. The venue is M S Swaminathan Hall Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) Bhubaneswar, -751003, Odisha, India

International Conference on Organic Farming for Sustainable Agriculture (OFSA), aims to examine the levels of knowledge and understanding of the global organic farmers, academic and scientific community about Organic Farming and Sustainable Agriculture. The Conference assumes significance in the context of the extensive damage made to the natural resources and human health caused by the high external input based modern agriculture. It aims to bring together scientists, scholars, researchers and students working in the areas of Organic Farming and Sustainable
Agriculture from different parts of the world to discuss about the state-of-the-art technologies in Organic Farming and Sustainable Agriculture. It would focus on sharing of ideas and skills on Organic Farming and Sustainable Agriculture and stimulate new research specifically by approaching the problems not addressed within traditional disciplines of Organic Farming and Sustainable Agriculture. This Conference offers the opportunity for an international gathering of scientists, practitioners, therapists, and educators who come from different professional perspectives, but share common interests to explore and become familiar with the developments in these fields.

Research papers/ articles will be presented in two categories, oral and poster. Soft copies of theabstracts should reach Prof Gautam Budha Sitaram on or before 5th May 2017. An abstract should be of approximately 300-400 words and it should be types in MS word, Times new Roman, 12 font size in single space. The abstracts should contain title of the paper, names of the authors with affiliations and contact address. The authors of selected abstracts (as decided by the editorial board) will be requested for full length papers, which will be published in book form with ISBN number.

IRDR commends the successful conclusion of Fudan University's second International Summer School on Climate Change and Related Risks. Supported by IRDR in collaboration with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the MAP-AQ programme, the three-week flagship program brought together nearly 80 participants from 16 countries, fostering a dynamic global learning community under the theme “Human Activity and Weather/Climate Extremes.”

UNESCO and IRDR co-organise this lumos at UTC 8:00 on 18 August, which will reflect the research and innovations from young generations with the topics including but not limited (1) vulnerability assessment of cultural heritages (tangible and intangible), (2) integrating traditional knowledge and advanced technologies for climate change adaption and disaster risk reduction, and (3) the role of culture in climate action through education, grassroots initiatives, and policy engagement.
