Call for Participants for BUCEA International Summer School on Smart Cities 2024

The 2024 International Summer School on Smart Cities is jointly organized by Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA), the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS), and the Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium (BRAUIC), and supported by Ningbo University (NBU) and Chinas University-Enterprise Alliance for Excellent Engineer Education in Civil Engineering in Construction Field.

The International Summer School 2024 aims to provide an opportunity for students and young researchers to participate in series of lectures and practical sessions at a minimum cost and interact in a more comfortable environment through social events and recreational tours, as well as experience the culture of China. In the past years, BUCEA and BRAUIC have successfully organized 7 editions of the international summer school with well-designed courses given by international experts from famous universities and institutions, having attracted more than 1300 students from over 100 universities around the world.

The lectures will involve a wide range of topics, focusing on practical and methodological skills for better management and sustainable development of our cities, including: Architecture and Urban Planning, GIS & Remote Sensing, Environmental Science and Engineering, Construction Management, and Robotics Engineering and Artificial Intelligence.

The summer school welcomes applications from full-time students, all applications will be reviewed before acceptance, and accepted participants will be required to register for the summer school and pay a registration fee. The registration fee is 6,000 yuan/person, which includes attendance to all lectures and activities, learning materials, accommodation, and meals from July 14 to July 22. For BRAUIC members sending a delegation with more than 5 students, a discounted price of 4,000 yuan/person will be offered.

The summer school will be held at the Daxing Campus of Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA) from July 14 to 22, 2024. The IRDR International Young Scientists Forum (IYSF) 2026 is a three-day international forum organized by IRDR and mainly hosted by IRDR IPO and IRDR ICoE Coherence. The forum brings early career researchers together to advance disaster risk science and its application to policy and practice in support of the Sendai Framework. Its outputs will assess the contribution of science to Sendai Framework implementation and generate forward-looking insights to inform the post-2030 disaster risk reduction agenda.
